MIXING BASS: A Simple Method
Mixing bass shouldn't be hard, but it can be tricky to keep a solid low-end without blowing up your entire mix.
This method is a tried-and-tested one - with a few personal adjustments - which works with all genres.
Quite simply, you compress the lows and saturate the highs!
To get more control, it can be beneficial to split your signal into three parts: 'Main', 'Sub', and 'Dirt'. That way, you can more aggressively compress the low-end (150hz and below) and saturate the mids/highs (300-400hz and above).
All this can be done with a single bass DI track, you just duplicate the track twice.
