MORE ABOUT EMPIRE SHELLS

This tight and punchy DW Collectors Series drum kit was recorded with a selection of fantastic vintage microphones, through an incredible Solid State Logic 4000E console.  We meticulously sampled the shells - kick, snare, 2 x rack toms, 2 x floor toms - at multiple velocities to create TCi's which sound natural; they can be used to augment drum shells or fully replace them.

We recorded these samples during the drum session for 'Hex The Dead' by We Are The Empire.  I ended up using them for the mixing of that release, and, since they turned out so well, I thought it would be a great library to share; these are great for anything, but especially rock and metal.

Each TCI has multiple microphone channels as well as two separate room tracks for each shell. 

Also, use the 'SMACK!' track to bring some parallel compression to the signal; use as much or as little as you like individually on each TCI - be careful, a little goes a long way!

We chose to focus on the shells for this release, so no cymbals are included.

To run the TCI instruments, you will require a copy of Slate Trigger 2.0 (NOT INCLUDED).

The one-shots are just WAV files, so you can use them in any audio application that supports them.
